Amazing food. Great prices and drink selection. Interior and service is a little questionable but you really can't complain about it because of how good the food is lol. I don't care if they are rude to my white a**, that jerk chicken and rice and beans are so good i don't even care!

My wife is Haitian... I accidentally threw out her rice & beans in the fridge. Tried this place on the way home for the first time to try to make up for it because it was sorta near by. -I'm out the dog house!! Food was great! Forgot to take a pic before we devoured it.

My husband happened to see a van with the logo for Akra Haitian Deli when we were driving in Queens and we saw they are located in Huntington area. We are looking to live out east and decided to take the drive to see how the Haitian food was! Honestly, we have tons of Caribbean food in Queens/New Hyde Park area, but Akra was well worth the drive! We ordered the Jerk Chicken with Duriz Djon Djon- 10/10 recommend. The jerk chicken wasn't too spicy, it was juicy and flavorful. They also gave three big pieces! The rice was also well cooked and not too salty. We also ordered Griot with Bannan peze- it's a requirement if you're going to eat at any Haitian establishment. The woman dishing out food out said "this meat is a little dry. Sorry." We ordered it anyway and it turned out to be pretty good! The bannan was a little soggy, but really that's part of ordering takeout for certain food items. Lastly, we bought two bottles of their lemonade and it was delicious! A great balance of sweet and tangy! We would definitely come back!

A hidden spot in Huntington by all the houses. It's like a buffet style and you can purchase by portion. We tried the Jerk Chicken and the Goat with Okra. It was pretty good. Good amount of portion. However the selections were pretty limited, they didn't have a lot of the food that was advertised or says on grubhub. So best to order in person to see what's available.

Truly a seriously hidden gem in Huntington Station. Akra is shining because of the food. I grew up Haitian food and it's hard to find a place that make decent food that tastes like home. No one hold a flame to my late grandma but here at Akra you get food that makes you feel like you eating at your aunties home. The woman helping me was so friendly with everyone that came in , something you don't see in Caribbean restaurants. I would have loved a little more griot on the plate but that tells you how much I love it. Definitely will stop in next time I'm in the area.

Apparently I have a reputation for being opinionated about food. So I was put in charge of selecting the family Uber Eats order and the Saturday-only availability of Akra's goat soup made it the clear front runner. The soup is excellent but indescribable. All I can say is we didn't know if it would be normal soup size or a meal, turned out it was a big container that can easily fill two bowls. Based on my minimal Haitian food knowledge I thought griot would be a good pick for "Haitian Food 101" class. The fried pork is self-explanatory but the real excitement here is from the spicy cabbage. Not gonna lie, I didn't jump for joy when baked chicken was selected, as that seemed too safe, but it turned out to be a great choice with outstanding sauce. The good times even extend to the beverages; the homemade passion fruit juice was the ideal accompaniment.
